Bluestockings Magazine blog is currently recruiting new blog editors!
We have been in the process of building an engaging, diverse, inclusive and community-driven group of writers, artists, poets and thinkers interested in feminism, gender, sexuality, race, class, ethnicity, language, and issues of identity and disparity more broadly.
Our blog and print platforms feature all sorts of content: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, visual art, comedy, hard-hitting journalism, personal and testimonial submissions, and academic writing focusing on culture, politics, sex, health, and anything else related to women’s or minority’s rights and/or issues.
Blog editors are responsible for providing 1 or 2 posts for each week. They must be willing to edit content, solicit writers, and at times contribute content themselves. They will also contribute recommendations for our weekend links and therefore be active and engaged in feminist media. Sensitivity to inclusivity of all voices and in diversifying our content is a must. Must also be either attuned to or willing to learn about the variety of intersections that change social navigability and individual experiences. Special engagement with content on race, sexuality, disability, class, ethnicity, and/or gender is preferred. Copy-editing, image selection, and social media usage are also expected.
We accept applications from people of all genders, races, sexualities, abilities, nationalities, ethnicities, incomes and educational backgrounds. Our editor pool is not limited to only Brown University students. We encourage anyone interested to get in contact with us.
Must be open to collaboration, inclusivity, differences of opinion and (at least) fairly accessible by e-mail.
Please send inquiries for applications to firstname.lastname@example.org with the heading ‘Blog Editor Inquiry.’ We will accept editors on a rolling basis. Unfortunately, all of our positions are currently unpaid.
