I choose photography as my medium of choice because it allows me to make order from chaos. Shooting analog rather than digital forces me to slow down and think more carefully about the aesthetic choices I’m making. The nature of photography creates a hyper-reality that has the ability to see more than what the human eye is capable of. This is what drew me to photography — the minute details captured in a moment. Slight folds in a closed eye, chapped lips with each crevasse visible. I photograph my younger sister because I want to understand something within her. Not her innocence or liveliness, but her metamorphosis. When she’s on the brink of free and vulnerable.
